Losing your vision doesn't need to mean losing your independence or the ability to live a full life. The funds raised by the Blindfold Challenge help children, adults, and elders live and work with dignity and independence. There is a growing need for braille and vocational education, technology training, and vision rehabilitation services:

  • There are at least 100,000 blind and visually impaired individuals in Massachusetts.
  • Only 1 out of 5 blind school children use braille, meaning that they may not become literate adults.
  • Only 30% of blind people of working age are employed.
  • The number of visually impaired elders is expected to double by 2030 as the baby boomers age.
