Change the Way You See Things

About Us

The Blindfold Challenge began in 2007 as part of the Vision 5K, an event that raised funds and awareness for organizations serving the blind and visually impaired in Massachusetts. In 2012 we were invited to participate in the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) 5K, which is held in the historic Back Bay the day before the Boston Marathon and crosses the famous Marathon finish line. We’re honored to be part of this incredible race.

A Blindfold Challenge team consists of one blindfolded athlete and one sighted guide, who run together to prove that with teamwork and training, something that seems impossible can become achievable and amazing. Show your solidarity and experience the thrill of the challenge, while raising funds for these organizations and their essential rehabilitation, education and technology services:

MABVI

Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Founded in 1903, MABVI is the oldest organization in the country serving blind adults and elders. Today we are one of the leading providers of vision rehabilitation in the state. Our experience allows us to form strong partnerships with organizations across Massachusetts, so we can meet the pressing need for services and transform lives.

National Braille Press

National Braille Press

A non-profit braille publisher, National Braille Press promotes literacy for blind children through outreach programs and provides access to information by producing materials in braille for blind children and adults. National Braille Press is the premier braille publisher in the US that specializes in producing original braille works written by blind authors expressly for blind people. NBP’s Center for Braille Innovation is providing access to information through more efficient braille production and the development of e-braille technologies.
